Keeping Your Good Health

From the moment we are born we begin to age.  Though it’s impossible to stop the aging process, it is possible to slow it.  Through good physical and mental health, one can live longer and have more happy years with a youthful body.  It is recommended by most health experts that exercise should happen for at least 30 minutes 3 times a week.  In addition, a diet without excessive fats, sugars, and cholesterol will allow your body to maintain good internal health. Regardless of how well you eat, it often isn’t possible to acquire all the daily nutrients with just food.  Vitamin supplements or an herbal nutritional supplement are wise to incorporate into daily life, and will provide your body with ample nutritive elements combined with a proper diet.

Overcoming the Common ColdThe common cold is one of the most contagious viruses known to man.  When you have a cold, it’s best to stay home and take measures to help yourself get better.  To break a cold, first ensure you get lots of sleep and rest.  It takes extra effort for your body to stay awake and to fight off the cold virus.  When you’re asleep, the body is allowed to expend most of its effort on combating the cold.  Also remember to drink lots of fluids and vitamin C, this will help to flush out and purge foreign antibodies.  Tylenol or a standard pain reliever will assist in lowering a fever or help with headaches.  If you have a sore throat or congestion, a humidifier will help to ease the pain and remove congestion.

If your cold persists for three or more days, it is wise to consult a physician in case a more serious virus like influenza has entered your system.
